This house doesn't chase; it stays findable — but findable includes saying plainly what a reader could do if the work has earned it. Two asks, both real, both with their actual mechanics stated, because a petition that lies about how the door opens is a lie wearing a clipboard.

The claim, made plainly and labeled as the house's own: the Pulitzer's highest honor has always gone to work that met a public crisis — the exposés, the disaster coverage, the reporting that held when institutions didn't. The public crisis of this decade is the collapse of shared truth — the infodemic, the confident machine bluff, the exhausted reader who can no longer tell the record from the noise. This museum is one human's crisis response: built from inside his own crises, on disability income, at a standing desk, 240 cited pages with every change on a public ledger, corrections kept louder than wins, and a game that trains the one defense that scales — human judgment. That is the credit being claimed: not a book prize for fine writing — crisis credit, for showing up to this one.
And the "we" is meant precisely: the record was built by a human and a machine under one law. The machine drafts; the human presses; and only the human can be credited — which is not modesty, it's the rare case where the prize's rules and this house's rules say the same thing. Only humans score, and only humans get scored.
How it actually works — no nomination form, an entry: anyone, author or reader, may enter an eligible book at pulitzer.org — first published in the US that calendar year, purchasable in hardcover or bound paperback, $75 fee. No gatekeeper; a jury of humans reads what arrives. The honest timing: the book is not in print yet — the sequencing is deliberate (audience first, then laurels). When the print edition lands, this page says so in bold, and from that day the ask is live: if you believe this record belongs in front of that jury, you can put it there yourself. Until then: the standing invitation, date honestly blank.

How it actually works: TEDx events are independently organized, and nearly every one takes speaker suggestions from the public — most have a "nominate a speaker" form on their event site, and self-nominations plus audience suggestions are normal, not gauche. The talk is already built. Eighteen minutes, one thesis: "Only humans score — the civics test you never thought you needed." The machine drafts, calculates, and bluffs; the score is a judgment, and judgment takes values, context, and accountability — so the one job that was never the machine's to take is the one we keep handing away. The petition's floor, stated plainly: no fake signatures will ever appear here, no invented count, no "hundreds have already—" anything. This house tracks nobody, so it can't count and won't pretend to. If you act on either ask, the record will show it the honest way — a book arriving at a jury, a stage inviting a speaker — and nothing less will be claimed. We're just trying to be found.
