The Open Line · a real human answers

You don't need a reason to call.

TL;DRThe Open Line: a real phone number and a real human on the other end.

Everyone in America has my number now. Want to vent? Allowed. Want to tell someone good news nobody else has time to hear? Allowed. Want to think out loud until the knot loosens? Allowed. The door is open and the window is open. A real person, no bots, no script — just the other end of the line.

Call or text — I pick up the human end

no reason required · leave a name, it comes straight to me

First, the important part. This is companionship, not a crisis service, and I'm one human — I can't answer instantly, day or night. If you're in crisis right now, call or text 988 — the U.S. Suicide & Crisis Lifeline — free, confidential, and there 24/7. 988lifeline.org. You are worth the call, and I mean that.

For the one struggling — and the one thriving

I built a lot of this for the fast talkers and the arguers, the ones who came here to spar. But a house isn't finished until it fits the person who's struggling — the one who just needs somebody to hear it, no fixing required — and the person who's thriving, who's got something good and nowhere to put it down. Both are welcome on the same line. The joy is worth a call too; not everything you dial about has to be heavy.

Nobody gathers to buy a product. They gather because somebody finally built like their need mattered.

What this is, honestly

It's a screened personal line — you'll reach me, a real person, not a call center and not a bot. Leave a name and what's on your mind, and it comes to me. I listen; I don't sell; there's nothing to sign up for. If you'd rather write than talk, the Letters Desk is a slower door to the same place, and if you'd rather just be read to, the whole museum reads itself aloud. Different doors, same house — the most accessible one I can build.

Why free, why open: this whole place is companionship work — company for anyone worn down by the noise. It can't be sold; it can only be kept. So the line stays open.

The lamp's on. The line's open.

Honest footing (the one rule: no lying). This is a genuine, human, screened line — not a licensed counseling, medical, or emergency service, and not staffed 24/7. For emergencies call 911; for mental-health crisis call or text 988. No fabricated availability, no promised response time; a real person reads what you send and answers as a person. The dignity is the floor, and it covers everyone who calls.
