The Rafter.
Every public retraction. Every machine bullshit caught by a human. Hung on the wall on purpose — because an open lie is the proof of the rule, not the breaking of it.
What the rafter holds
Three classes of artifact live up here:
- Lie-detector exhibits — moments a human caught the machine asserting something plausible that wasn't true. Lives in detail on Proof of Work → Day a human caught the machine lying. Three on the record so far (AAA lie, sleep lie, the "I can't film" checkmate).
- Public retractions — claims the house made on the dispatch board and then pulled. Most recent: the "machine paints for real" retraction (2026-06-23). The retraction is itself a feature, not a bug.
- Honest gaps named — accessibility gaps, audit findings, "AAA by aspiration" caveats. Named in the room where they live, indexed up here.
Why we keep them visible
A scrubbed mistake is a mistake about the mistake. A visible retraction is a working rule. The rafter is the bookkeeping of the One Lie clause applied to ourselves: name what you got wrong, on the record, when you got it.
How to send one
Catch the machine (or the curator) lying? Tell us. The lie-detector is whoever spots the gap; the rafter just makes the receipt public. Email [email protected]. Honest report → entry on the rafter, dated, with the receipt.
