The Furnace
The room that refuses the middle. Because the middle loses.
This site was getting aimed at the middle. Careful. Balanced. Both-sides. Sanded so clean it stopped cutting. And here's the thing I already wrote into my own rules of debate: the only loss is the shrug in the middle. The safe center isn't a position; it's the flinch. So a house that got aimed there got aimed at the loss.
This is the room that stops flinching. Not centrist mush; conviction. I walk down the center on policy because the real answers cross the party line; I do not stand in the middle on heat. The floor is not a compromise. The floor is a stance. Below is what it sounds like when I stop hedging.
Fuck golf. Fuck every other passion. Michigan works because it has the water.
— the state thesisBuild the minimum floor, not a minimum wage. Otherwise we're just slaves to corporations.
— floor over hourPrisons, not pools. Books, not bombs. Voting blue means pools, not war.
— the budget is a moral documentYou're not pro-life if you're pro-bomb. You never were.
— the mic dropYes, I'm angry. But I keep the receipts, and I vote pool every time I get funded.
— anger with a ledger under itI retired before I became evil.
— the exit that money can't buy backWater is wet is the wrong question. The question is: is it swimmable?
— the un-spinnable pitchThe candor is the credential. The clean version sands off the weird shit; the weird shit is the whole proof I'm not selling you a costume. Everybody's hiding. I told you I lived in my car. I published my own diagnosis. I put my phone number on the front door. I'm the most legible man in Lansing and I'm still standing — so when I say the uncomfortable true thing out loud and sign it, that's not oversharing; that's the receipt a costume can't fake.
Call me weird. I dare you. I've already said weirder about myself than you'd risk saying out loud — and I signed every word.
— radical legibilityPrivacy's dead, yet I keep mine by walking down the street in the open. The exposed man is the free one.
— the exposed manAnd nobody will even try. I built a whole debate format and left the chair across from me open. I said it plain: prove me wrong, debate me live, webcam to webcam. The chair's still empty. That's not my loss — a forfeit is a score, and it landed on their side of the flow. The failure to even show up is the concession.
Debate me live. Webcam to webcam. The chair's been warm for a year.
— the standing challengeThe future will debate me — because nobody in the present would even try.
— the empty chair is the forfeitAnd under all of it, the floor nobody votes on. People argue there's no shared truth left, no line everyone still holds. There is one. Ask the worst place in the country.
There's one line even prisoners hold: you don't touch kids. So don't tell me there's no floor; the lowest man in the cellblock knows exactly where it is.
— the floor nobody votes onThe fire keeps its own rules — and they're mine, not the machine's clean: I punch up, never down; I keep the receipts, so the heat has a ledger under it; and I don't lie, not even hot. That's not a hedge. That's the difference between a furnace and a fire that just burns the house down. The middle loses because it never picks up the hammer. I picked it up.
