Adult Debate World · the case for funding

The Ask.

Teach people — kids and adults — to argue well: to clash without cruelty, check a claim, lose with grace, and change their mind on purpose. Do it through debate, in public, for anyone. That's the mission. This is the honest ask to help start it.

We're not asking you to fund a finished thing. We're asking you to fund the start of a true one.

The problem

Debate has been quietly cut from school after school — the one classroom that actually teaches good argument. Meanwhile the public square runs on straw men, gotchas, and confident nonsense. A generation is learning to win attention instead of arguments, and to treat changing your mind as losing. A republic can't run on that.

What we're building

Coaching

Teach your kid (or yourself) to debate — cross-ex, Lincoln-Douglas, public forum, and arguing well for life.

The People's Debate

Recorded, streamed debates judged by the public, not one chair — honest voting, watch-before-you-vote.

Debate camp

The goal: real seats for real kids, including the ones who could never pay for a private circuit.

Free resources

The Fallacy Wing, the formats, the rules — open and free, the way civic literacy should be.

What your support starts

Seed the first debate camp. Fund free coaching for kids who can't pay. Build the honest voting + streaming engine that makes the public league real. And stand up the nonprofit so the mission outlives any one person.

— specific budget and funding tiers go here, in the curator's own hand (we name real numbers, not aspirational ones) —

Where it honestly stands

Real today: the platform is built and live (this site); the format is designed (The McKendry Debate™); the coach is real and ready to teach.
Pending: a board (the "World Council"), 501(c)(3) status, the voting/streaming engine, and the funding to launch.
Honest money note: we are forming a 501(c)(3) — it is not granted yet, so gifts are not yet tax-deductible. We'll say the day that changes. No fake status, ever.

No invented metrics, no "served 10,000 kids," no donors we don't have. The numbers are zero-to-start because it's the start — and we'd rather tell you that than lie to look bigger. That honesty is the organization.

The ask

Be a founding backer of Adult Debate World.

Founding donors, grant partners, and people who just believe in it — the start is the hardest and the most important money there is.

— how to reach the curator (the booking/contact line) goes here, in his own hand —
Where the house stands. This is an early-stage ask, written straight: no invented statistics, no testimonials we don't have, no claim of nonprofit status or tax-deductibility we haven't earned. The 501(c)(3) is in formation, not granted. The budget, the founder's bio, and the contact line are the curator's to fill in his own hand — blanks stay blank until they're true. The one rule holds: no lying — especially when money's on the line. Sister rooms: The Anti-Grift, The People's Debate, Coaching & the format.
