Summer reading just got a lot cheaper.
Zero dollars. No ads. No tracking. No login. No app to install, no account to make for a nine-year-old. Just a real museum of writing, sized to whoever walks in — from the youngest reader in the house to you.
This is an invitation to every parent, every child — the site doesn't stop at one age, and neither does this letter. There's a room for all of you, and it costs nothing to walk through any of them.
A ladder, not a wall
A hand-made storybook edition — simple, warm, one idea per page. No AI-generated rewrite pretending to be a picture book; a real one, written by hand.
The literacy test meets a reader wherever they actually are — and it teaches while it measures, with a link to go read the passage first if they haven't yet. No shame in "I don't know this one."
Audio Mode reads any page aloud — for a kid who'd rather listen, or a parent driving a carpool with ten free minutes.
No account required anywhere in the reading path. No data leaves the device for any of it. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to cancel later.
Why free, and why now
Because a real library card was always free, and this is the same idea wearing a website. The whole point of this house is a steadier room for people tired of being sold to — and a kid's summer reading list is exactly the wrong place to start charging admission.
An open, honest invitation — no data collected on children or adults beyond what your own browser holds locally (localStorage, never sent anywhere). No affiliation with any school, library system, or curriculum claimed. If a page misjudges a reading level, the fix is a tap, not a purchase. Reach a human: (517) 798-1794 · [email protected]. No lying.
