The Great Filter is the barrier a civilization has to clear to make it; the thing that quietly stops most of them. The usual guesses are physical: a rock from the sky, a pandemic, a poisoned climate. This one is truth. AI is the filter because it's the moment a species can generate infinite plausible content with zero regard for whether it's true (Rule 000, at planetary scale); lying stops being expensive and becomes free and endless, and a civilization that can no longer tell true from false loses the one capacity every survival skill sits on top of: agreeing on what's real long enough to act together. The filter was never the machine's power; it's whether the species keeps a human hand on the score. The ones that pass keep humans as the arbiters of what's true; the ones that don't go under in their own plausibility. Only humans score stops being a slogan in that light; it's the passage.
