Nowhere to go but up; the floor is always secured

The secured floor is the launchpad, and it's also the leverage. When the basics are handled; the house secured, retired at forty-two, building out of it instead of scrambling from under it; there is no down left; nowhere to go but up. And that is exactly why the consulting model fits him: a man who cannot fall negotiates from a place fear can't reach. He can name his terms, tell the hard truth, and walk away from the wrong fit; because the floor doesn't move whether the deal closes or not (that's available to the highest ethos, not the highest bidder; the pay cut that strengthens the credibility; the unbuyable position money can't purchase). This is the floor argument turned into personal strength: give a person a real floor and you don't make them lazy, you make them brave; the secured floor is where honesty gets cheap and fear gets expensive. Everyone should get one; the floor is a right, and from a real one the only direction is up. (His coin; machine's read, refine to his.)
