Citizens United made dehumanization the record™

The inversion, named at its source. Dehumanization usually works by taking personhood away from humans; Citizens United ran it backwards — it handed personhood to the non-human, and in a finite room of speech that's the same theft: every dollar of ghost-speech crowds out a breathing voice, so the humans get relatively dehumanized by the corporation's promotion. And it isn't an insult or a mood — it's the record: a real ruling, cited daily, that a non-breathing thing's money is protected speech. The dehumanization is on the books, which is exactly why it can be argued with (score the record, not the noise).
